This site was created because there are others with authoritative answers. For some an authoritative answer can discourage thinking and formulating both questions and answers in their own words. It matters little whether these are "right" or not. What does matter is how they might stimulate personal reflection, encourage further research and reveal fresh ways of understanding. It is expected that responses differing from orthodox belief will be challenged. Users ought to feel responsible for doing so if they read erroneous or misleading answers, at least by down voting if not also explaining their objection.
Also relevant is the scope of this site in that it includes Catholic outlook, the ways contemporary Catholics view the changing world with all its complicated challenging issues. We are meant to be the salt of the world, to bring both the zest of Christ's life and the traction we need, something familiar to any facing slippery winter roads. The secular world can be overwhelming with its exclusive concern for material well-being to the exclusion of the life giving spiritual dimension.
